What the Channel of Struggle means

The Channel of Struggle joins Gate 28, the Game Player, in the Spleen Center with Gate 38, the Fighter, in the Root Center. The Spleen is the body's instinct for what is safe and alive right now. The Root is the body's source of drive and adrenaline. Linked together, a gut-level need for meaning is fed by a steady pressure to fight for it.

The theme is finding meaning through struggle. This channel can't settle for a comfortable life that doesn't mean anything. It asks, often quietly and sometimes loudly, what is worth your effort, and it keeps asking until you find an answer. Many people with this channel spend years searching for their cause. Once they find it, they commit fiercely and don't let go easily.

In your life

A pointless day wears on you more than a hard one. You might have a stable job and a good home and still feel a restless unease if none of it feels like it's for something. You'd rather struggle for a reason than coast without one.
