What Gate 48 means

Gate 48 is the gate of the well. It carries a deep reservoir of talent and understanding, but like a real well, the water sits far below the surface. It takes time, practice and patience to draw it up. What comes out, when it does, is rich and worth the wait.

This gate sits in the Spleen Center, the part of the chart tied to instinct, intuition and in-the-moment knowing. That's why Gate 48 so often feels its own depth as a sense of "I'm not ready yet." It connects to Gate 16 in the Throat Center, the gate of skills and enthusiasm, to form the Channel of the Wavelength. Gate 16 brings the spark and the repetition, and Gate 48 brings the depth. The six lines of Gate 48
