285 Hz is the second of the low Solfeggio tones, and DIVINE Sound names it Restoration. Its theme is rest in the fullest sense: putting things down, letting a long stretch end, and finding your way back to the version of you that isn't running on empty.

Where the number comes from

The Solfeggio frequencies, as a set of numbers, are a modern tradition, popularized in the late twentieth century. Their names echo the medieval hymn to Saint John the Baptist, "Ut queant laxis," whose lines gave singers the syllables ut, re, mi, fa, sol and la. The medieval singers never measured these numbers: the hertz values themselves are modern. 285 is not one of the original six; it was added later, alongside 174, to extend the set below them.
