What 528 Hz is

528 Hz is the best known of the Solfeggio tones, often called "the love frequency." DIVINE Sound names it Transformation, and the two ideas belong together: in this tradition, love is what makes real change possible, and change is what love asks of us.

Where the number comes from

The Solfeggio frequencies, as a set of numbers, are a modern tradition, popularized in the late twentieth century. Their names echo the medieval hymn to Saint John the Baptist, "Ut queant laxis," whose lines gave singers the syllables ut, re, mi, fa, sol and la. The medieval singers never measured these numbers: the hertz values themselves are modern. 528 carries the syllable mi.
